No, I'm not planning on it, but this bully does make me want to get out my squirt gun! The last two days, this mockingbird has taken on all comers at my feeders. He has a three point surveillance routine, chasing competitors away. In this picture, a cardinal waits hopefully in the background as Mr. Big stands guard over one of the three feeders.

If you have any ideas on how to get rid of one of these guys clue me in! I have one who perches on my neighbors roof so he can see my entire yard. As soon as a bird comes anywhere near a feeder he (or she) is on it. He has dive bombed me, my kids, my (don't worry, she's declawed) cat, even my formidable pit bull mix!

I have been driven to watching their patterns and destroying their nests. Each time I destroy a nest the egg count goes down.
Hopefully if they cannot reproduce they will go away.
When they nest they screech at any other bird, animal or human in the area.
I detest a Northern Mockingbird. Like most bully predators they sing beautifully.
