Hawk, probably red-shouldered. Huntley Meadows Park, Alexandria, VA. April 2005. We looked at this hawk and another in an adjacent tree through a scope for quite a while, and also watched them fly between trees. Group consensus was that they were juvenile red shouldered, which are apparently fairly common at Huntley Meadows.
