Bufflehead and Scaup, Mason Neck State Park, Fairfax Co., VA. Specks in this picture, there are a bufflehead pair in the lower right hand corner. The male was putting on quite a display. Though it rained and before and after the walk, we had a dry, warm walk with a lot of birds. In addition to the ones I got photographs of, we saw:
cardinals
chickadees
junco
white breasted nuthatch
titmouse
downy woodpecker
white throated sparrow
brown headed cowbird
mourning dove
yellow rumped warbler
adult bald eagle
canada geese
song sparrow
redwinged blackbird
